Some Tips That Will Help You Successfully Complete This Course

Stay Connected
Check the course site, Blackboard, and your student email account regularly. If you regularly use a different email account, you can have your student email automatically forwarded to that account. Assignments may be updated during the semester, so check the syllabus often. Printing off the syllabus at the start of the semester and never looking at the online version again is a bad idea. Login to Blackboard regularly, so you can review the upcoming Discussion Board questions. You are required to post a response to one of the questions in at least ten of the forums. Remember that examination questions will be selected from the posted questions, so take the time to read through other students' responses.

Don't Procrastinate!
Because you will not see me in class nagging you about assignments, postponing your work in this course is seductively easy, but all of the assignments in the course have deadlines. For example, you must post your assignment responses to one of the assigned questions by a specific deadline, usually the following day. I won't promise to accept late work, but you should read the following tip. Make checking up on this course part of your routine and you shouldn't have a problem.

Don't Hesitate to Ask!
Everyone needs some help sometimes. If you are having technical difficulties try the Engl 2013 Technical Assistance page. If you want online suggestions for improving your grades on the weekly responses, try the online suggestions and examples at How to Write a 10-Point Response. If you are confused about any assignment or you run into unexpected complications or you have made some bad decisions about using your time and you want me to cut you some slack, please contact me with an email or call me at 968-0484. I can't guarantee that I'll be able to solve all problems, but I will try to be helpful and reasonable.
